Château La Rose Perrière 2018 Lussac Saint-Émilion (ex-ch)
Château La Rose Perrière was a monastery in the Middle Ages, and monks were the first to plant vines on the estate's limestone slope. La Rose Perrière is the oldest vineyard in the Lussac Saint-Emilion appellation. Biological pest control is used in the vineyard.
This 2018 vintage is expressive and balanced. The frank attack opens on a medium meaty and velvety mouth. Precise and chiselled tannins reveal a fresh and juicy length. In the mouth, aromas of crushed strawberry are revealed.

« I loved the nose of the 2018 Château La Rose Perriere, which has terrific complexity in its blackberry, spice, graphite, and camphor aromas and flavors. Hitting the palate with medium-bodied richness, it's balanced, incredibly elegant, and seamless on the palate, with a great texture and finish. Count me in as a fan. »
Markus del Monego: 91/100
« Dark purple colour with violet hue and black core. Densely woven nose with expressive aroma reminiscent of black cherries and plums, ripe black berries and black currant jam, fine toasting aroma and gingerbread spices in the background. On the palate well structured and balanced with ripe tannins, sweet and juicy fruit, balmy spices and convincing length. An elegant wine with potential. »
