Château Cap de Mourlin 2015
Château Cap de Mourlin, one of the oldest estates in the Saint-Émilion appellation, has roots dating back to 1647 when it was acquired by the Capdemourlin family. In 1983, the estate embarked on a new chapter in its history, undergoing significant infrastructure renovations that further elevated the quality of its wines, reflecting the exceptional terroir.
The Vineyard
Château Cap de Mourlin's 14-hectare vineyard is situated on the northern slopes of Saint-Émilion, set on clay-limestone and clay-siliceous soils. The vineyard is predominantly planted with Merlot, along with smaller amounts of Cabernet Franc and Cabernet Sauvignon.
Vinification and Aging
Vinification takes place in stainless steel tanks with external temperature control, followed by malolactic fermentation in barrels. The wine is then aged for 15 to 18 months in a mix of 50% new barrels and 50% second-fill barrels.

Review by Robert Parker
"Medium garnet-purple in color, the 2015 Cap de Mourlin opens with bright, vibrant red fruits with blackberry accents and earthy undertones. Medium to full-bodied with soft, supple, approachable tannins and plenty of freshness, it finishes on an earthy note. Drinking well now, it should easily cellar for 10-12 years."
