Chateau Montviel 2020
The 2020 Château Montviel is another standout from the vintage, offering a pure, medium to full-bodied profile with vibrant notes of dark, almost blue-hued, iron-tinged fruits. It’s layered with violet, floral, and chocolate nuances, framed by fine tannins and impressive length. This classic Pomerol delivers ripe, luscious fruit and a velvety texture, yet maintains a sense of balance and seamless elegance. Enjoy this wine over the next 10-15 years. It's just as exceptional as the 2019.
The Vineyard
In July, bunches were carefully thinned, followed by maturity equalization at mid-véraison, with additional bunches removed if necessary. A light leaf thinning was performed first on one side, then the other. The grapes were hand-picked in two rounds at the beginning of September to separate the millerandage grapes.
