Bodega Monteviejo is located at the foot of the Andes Mountain Range, in the heart of the Uco Valley, one of the main wine regions in Argentina, 110 km from the city of Mendoza. (Vista Flores, Tunuyán).

La Violeta is made with the utmost care possible for the production of a wine. Quarters 5 and 9 were selected for La Violeta, as they best express the elegance, concentration, and typicality of Malbec. The harvest is manual and takes place in early April. Each grape cluster is hand-picked and then placed in French oak barrels for cold maceration at 8°C for 20 days. During the fermentation process, the barrels are rotated and manual pigeage is carried out daily. Long aging for 24-36 months in first-use French oak barrels.

Tasting notes

Thanks to the average temperatures in March, this wine is characterised by its freshness, a deep color, and amiable tannins. This is complemented with a marked aromatic intensity, with notes of fresh plum. Its optimum evolution along the years of ageing have lent it great complexity. The oak from barrel aging is finely assembled and integrated, leaving subtle notes, thus creating an elegant wine with great ageing potential.
